Lauryn Eagle says Wonder Woman revival reflected in reasons for working out

CALL it the Wonder Woman phenomenon but when it comes to women’s motivation for working out, strong is replacing skinny.

Thanks to the raging success of superhero blockbuster Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot, more and more women are turning to martial arts classes and weights regimes over the traditional aerobics classes.

Wonder Woman has been a worldwide box office smash, earning more than $780 million at the box office and receiving rave reviews for its portrayal of physically strong women.

Celebrity boxer Lauryn Eagle, who runs her own female-only boxing gym at Padstow, confirmed there had been a big increase in women at her classes.

“There is nothing more sexy then a strong-minded, determined and motivated woman pushing herself in a training regime,” she said.

Her client Bronte Howell, who has been working with Eagle for over two years, said that boxing was changing her life.

“It empowered me and gave me a mental strength I didn’t know I had,” she said.
